Three partners, one inseparable programme

ASCENT only exists with the three of us. ActionSporTech runs it, EuroSIMA opens the European industry, Mont X opens North America. All three logos appear on every deliverable, a non-exclusive trademark licence is formalised in article 7.2 of the agreement.

EuroSIMA

Founded in 1999, EuroSIMA is the European association of Action Sports companies. Its mission is to act as a catalyst for the European board sports industry, from startups to major groups, promoting and supporting the economic development of its members. With more than 200 members representing 4,000 direct employees and €2.1 billion in revenue, EuroSIMA is committed to bringing together, training, developing and promoting its members responsibly.

Governance

A three-party steering committee, at least one COPIL per quarter

Governance revolves around a three-party steering committee that meets at least once per quarter to arbitrate the programme, validate the budget grid and rule on decisions requiring three-party agreement.

Ownership

ASCENT trademark

ActionSporTech is the sole owner of the ASCENT trademark. A non-exclusive, royalty-free licence is granted to EuroSIMA and Mont X for the duration of the programme. Locked in article 7.2 of the three-party agreement.

Financial model

No party self-funds

Programme revenues cover programme costs: startup participation fees (€3,000 excl. tax × 5 = €15,000 excl. tax / year), EuroSIMA sponsorship and public grants. AST covers communication, EuroSIMA covers the Demo Day and AST travel to its events, Mont X covers its own travel. Startups pay for travel to the Surf Summit, the Cévennes bootcamp and the final Demo Day.
